2008 Nursing Applicant Information

Application and Supporting Documentation. Applications (to include fee and essay) for the Nursing program will be accepted from September 1, 2007, through February 15, 2008. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit applications as soon as practical, though, as slots will be filled on a rolling basis. Prior to initial review of the application, the following must be received by the Admissions Office:
All previous transcripts (high school, adult education and college)
Two letters of recommendation (Professional or academic. References from relatives or close, personal friends will not be considered.)
Resume or list of extracurricular activities, athletics, community service, awards and hobbies (optional but strongly encouraged).
For applicants who have taken courses through adult education or another college
in order to fulfill program prerequisites, it is
your responsibility
to have the final grade mailed to the Admissions Office. (In determining whether
an application is “complete” and ready to be reviewed by the Admissions
Committee, adult education transcripts are not considered because Admissions
personnel are not always aware of the students’ enrollment in these classes.)
You are strongly encouraged to follow up and ensure that all materials
have arrived for your file; allowing sufficient lead time.
Additionally,
if you are currently enrolled in prerequisite courses and/or Nursing general
education courses, MAKE SURE the Admissions Committee is aware of the course
name, location, and anticipated completion date.
Applicants currently enrolled in prerequisite courses will not be reviewed or
considered for admission until a final grade is received.
As a reminder, the prerequisites required for admission to EMCC’s Nursing
Program are:
Algebra I
Biology with Lab

*Starting September 2007, college-level Anatomy and Physiology and Lab has been
